The art of hand written communication is moving into quiet extinction. This is an invitation to donate to stationary supplies and postage for the current sponsorship country. Final Feliz Letters serves as a revolving exchange between continents. In a labor of love, hand selected schools and organizations of service to impoverished and not impoverished children throughout the world are chosen to participate in this project. Our first participating recipient was Brasil in December 2007 with letters from children and parents of North America. Brazilian children and parents in turn wrote to children in Zambia, Africa who have been orphaned to Aids. The communication continued to the Philippines, Thailand, Haiti, Cambodia and beyond. Though this concept of writing sounds simple; the process is no easy task when confronted with issues of translation and literacy. We ensure that the special nature of the correspondence is profoundly effective as each batch is accurately translated by professionals and hand delivered. The honest sensitivity of the writer and the private reaction and feedback of the recipient maintain integrity; children make their own magic happen.

The Final Feliz Foundation and its partner, the Chicago School of Blues, acknowledge and direct the needs of children and adults for movement, self expression, artistic discipline, making conscious lifestyle choices, and positive group belonging.  Blues music is a great vehicle for learning all these things. Staffed by professional teaching artists and veterans of the Chicago blues stage, we customize our presentations for all ages and abilities to meet each school or community group’s specific needs.  The Chicago School of Blues educational program is a joyous, all-around experience for students, guest musicians and teachers.

The future of preserving the memory of culture rests in children who receive education. They must be motivated to not only move forward as individual contributors to a global society, but be encouraged to embrace a pride in their indigenous heritage. We need to ignite the torch of local heroes to lead in rebuilding communities. This must be instilled as they grow or the world risks a tremendous loss of antiquity and an increase in denouncing ancestral legacy. The history of our global diversity is at stake as we move into this necessary new age of technology.

Epidemic awareness continues to be an extreme source of debate throughout our globe. Scientific research has proven that there are practical solutions to our plight of poverty and disease, though the example of Malaria continues to undermine societies, making them less productive and even poorer. When people are forced to have their primary concern be survival, all other concerns are naturally lessened. Once a country achieves a certain standard of living, with the children healthy and educated, citizens invariably begin to shift their focus towards the environment and pollution falls. As an independent foundation, we chose to provide information and resources to some of the most remote communities thereby ensuring that everyone within our reach has the opportunity to thrive as part of our global society.

Would you drink this water? We know that a healthy resurgence of nature is imperative to the future of our planet, environmental and humanitarian benefits of climate policies continue to present effective models of efficiency. We have consciously chosen to collaborate with trusted established entities that provide the most current and practical solutions to bringing water and plant foliage into remote communities. Whether it be simply contributing to building a well, hand delivering water filtration devices or providing seedlings to a remote community, every human being deserves clean water and pure air.

The Forgotten Child. Hushed souls lost in the new age of technology, we are the non- existent. Robbed of innocence and sometimes forced into labor we still walk this planet. A dirty secret in the flurry of programs for children, we are still left behind. We have no voice. Final Feliz Foundation has chosen to address the pain of knowing there are innocent children forced to live in circumstances beyond environmental and epidemic that you and I would consider unbearable and unbelievable.
